close to a good restraunt

The bed was comfortable and room was overall clean.

There was a few broken items in toilet seat, water in tub and sink wouldn't drain. When asked to switch rooms because of problems they did switch us to a different room.

Location- no pool- nohot tub

Beds were great and location quiet

Bars and restaurants were hard to find near by.

I have a daughter and her fiance who live just a block down the road and it is very convenient. It is close to campus and the accommodations are nice. We have stayed here many times.

The continental breakfast area and selection was, quite surprisingly, very nice. Getting back to the downtown area is easy too.

The neighborhood is a little iffy. Your room is good but the cleanliness of the motel itself needs to be taken better care of. First impressions are the most important.

We had issues with our door and the staff helped us out right away. Great place

The front desk staff was excellent and the breakfast was great.

The maid staff could have been better. Didn't make beds or change linens.

We checked into our room the 1st night and nearly fell out of the door from the damp musty smell. It was so "humid" in the room all of our clothes were damp by morning. Staff put a "air freshener" in the vent of the air conditioner but that was very over powering. Couldn't get sleep at all that night from the horrid conditions. My husband has a breathing condition and these room conditions only made it worse. They couldn't move us because the hotel was full. They did move us to a different room the next day, but clearly that first room had water issues of some sort. Even when you walked across the carpet you could feel the dampness. They charged a premium rate for a room that was FAR less than adequate, when in fact the room shouldn't even be made available until they have resolved the issues.

Wasn't happy with the hotel breakfast the rooms. As much as I paid I thought my room should have been better then what it was.

The first time I booked a hotel through my phone. It worked out really well. Very nice part of town. Close to the capital which we toured the next day. The staff was very helpful. We were returning home from a long road trip and since we had "cold pizza" in the cooler the desk attendant offered to warm it up for us and suggest a nearby location to pick up a salad. I usually don't stay at Holiday Inn Express because it is generally more expensive, but this was a good deal and made our stay in Des Moines much more memorable due to your staff and a very good place to spend the night. They could not offer us a location to park other than down a poorly lit street which is in a notoriously bad neighborhood
